May has arrived, bringing two prevention and awareness campaigns on topics that need daily attention. May Orange and May Yellow are two global campaigns.

In Brazil, May Orange was established by Federal Law No. 14.432/2022, raising awareness about protecting children and adolescents from sexual abuse. It's an opportunity for society to come together to protect children and adolescents, fostering a safe and healthy environment for their growth and development.

This year, May Yellow's theme is "Peace on the roads begins with you", encouraging reflection on individual behaviors in daily traffic, considering whether one feels at peace while driving. The campaign reminds us that responsibility, attitudes, and choices while driving or commuting depend on each individual.

Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 7 aims to ensure access to reliable, sustainable, and modern energy sources for all by 2030, at affordable prices for society to benefit from.

The 193 member states of the United Nations (UN), including Brazil, aim to significantly increase the proportion of renewable energy in the global energy mix by 2030 and double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency.

Additionally, enhancing international cooperation to facilitate access to research and clean energy technologies, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and advanced and cleaner fossil fuel technologies, and promoting investment in energy infrastructure and clean energy technologies.

Brazil Potash, through its affiliate, Potássio do Brazil, is committed to projects with minimal environmental impact. The company believes in and values the concept of promoting socioeconomic development with sustainability and environmental responsibility.
The Autazes Potash Project was designed to utilize electricity from Brazil's energy matrix, which is approximately 84% renewable. Utilizing renewable energy protects and nurtures the environment. This represents 80% less GHG Emissions close to 1,200,000 t CO2e per year.

Brazil Potash, through its subsidiary Potássio do Brasil, will operate with concrete sustainability criteria and practices, making the Autazes Potash Project a benchmark in sustainable mineral production in the country. Even before extracting sylvinite and producing potassium chloride from this rock to supply the Brazilian fertilizer market, the Brazilian company has already been implementing environmental actions.

Pioneering sustainability, the company has adopted ESG criteria in all its processes, making it clear that its frontline will be guided by projects with minimal environmental impact, social justice, and commitment to human development, while fully complying with Brazilian regulations and legislation.

It is important to note that there will be no deforestation of primary forests in any area for the industrial implementation and extraction of Sylvinite in the city of Autazes, as the area of the future industrial installations has already been degraded by other economic activities. Autazes is known as the "Land of Milk" due to its vocation for cattle raising and milk production, making the city a place with many pastures.

Potássio do Brasil has over 30 socio-economic-environmental projects to implement in the region, one of which is the subsidized supply of Potash to family farmers in Autazes and surrounding municipalities. This will avoid deforestation due to activity and enhance soil utilization in these families' small and medium productions.

The first equipment is arriving in the village of Urucurituba, in Autazes, in Amazonas, and the first hires are already taking place.

On April 8th, Potássio do Brasil's president, Adriano Espeschit, received the Installation License (LI) from Governor Wilson Lima for implementing the Silvinita mine and producing Potassium Chloride in Autazes, marking a milestone in Brazil's and the world's Food Security.

The Installation License was granted by the Amazonas Institute of Environmental Protection (Ipaam), under the leadership of its president, Juliano Valente, marking the completion of another stage in the licensing process. This followed a meticulous analysis by a multidisciplinary team evaluating the social, environmental, cultural, and economic aspects of the project and its area of influence. Potássio do Brasil has diligently followed all necessary regulations for the license to be granted.

It's important to note that this licensing phase will annually generate 2,600 direct jobs, and the company will follow a schedule for implementing socio-economic and environmental projects, contributing to community empowerment and environmental preservation.

April 8, 2024, becomes a historic day for Autazes, Amazonas, and Brazil. Today, Potássio do Brasil’s President, Adriano Espeschit, received the Installation License (LI) for the implementation of the Sylvinite mine and the production of Potash in the municipality of Autazes, configuring an important moment as a milestone in Food Security in Brazil and the World.

The Amazonas Environmental Protection Institute (IPAAM) granted the Installation License through its president, Juliano Valente. After careful analysis by a multidisciplinary team from the state licensing body, another stage of the licensing process is finalized, which evaluates the enterprise's social, environmental, cultural, and economic aspects and areas of influence. Potássio do Brasil has been precisely complying with all the necessary standards for the license to be granted.

On the occasion, Adriano Espeschit presented to the press and authorities the Autazes Potash Project and what it represents for Amazonas, the country, and the world, being a priority for Brazil by reducing the country's dependence on potash imports.

Potássio do Brasil highlights that a sustainable mining operation is possible in the Amazon region. This is reinforced by the support the Project received from the Mura Indigenous People in Autazes, who together will promote more development for communities with a better quality of life.

It is important to highlight that in this licensing phase, an average of 2,600 direct jobs will be created, and the company will comply with a schedule for implementing socioeconomic and environmental projects, which will contribute to the qualification of the population and the conservation of the environment.

Brazil Potash, through its affiliate Potássio do Brasil, is a fertilizer company extracting potassium salts from beneath the Amazon soil, specifically in the city of Autazes. The Autazes Potash Project stands as a model for socioeconomic and environmental development, emphasizing an approach that focuses on extraction techniques and prioritizes community well-being.

The Autazes Potash Project could contribute to development by generating employment and income for the Autazes region. During the construction phase of the ore access shafts and the beneficiation plant, an average of 2,600 direct positions. In the operational phase, approximately 1,300 direct jobs and 14,000 indirect jobs will be created.

The operational phase is expected to last more than 23 years. Another anticipated benefit is that, as a priority, labor hirings for the operational phase of the project will be allocated to residents of Autazes, and surrounding region.
