In March, national media reported the release of the second edition of the Foreign Investor Guide for Critical Minerals, launched by Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). The guide is part of a broader push to position Brazil as a competitive and transparent destination for global mining investment, with a clear focus on sustainable development.
According to the MME, “the Guide provides an overview of Brazil’s demographic and territorial characteristics, as well as key economic indicators such as GDP, interest rates, exchange rates, international reserves, and investments. It highlights the dynamics of the business environment and the fiscal framework.”
The publication outlines the entire mining process—from the request for mineral research to exploration and production—offering clarity on the regulatory and operational landscape. As such, the Guide is more than a data compendium; it is a strategic tool for exploring sustainable opportunities in a sector that is vital to Brazil’s economic development.
